ABOUT ME: Mrs Shilts

Hello! I’m Emma and I blog over at Life According to MrsShilts. I’m a Mama of two gorgeous boys; Olly aged five and we’ve just welcomed baby Freddie into the family, born January 2018.

I write a family lifestyle blog over at Life According to MrsShilts which I started many years ago. It’s documented some of my major life changes; weight loss and infertility then both my pregnancies with my boys and their early years incorporating family life and our adventures making the most of family time together.

I’m really looking forward to being a Summer Mama this year as it’s been a few years since I’ve experience the baby / early years and so much has changed. I’m looking forward to seeing the latest products and finding out how they can help with family life with a baby.

What 3 words come to mind when you think of your family?

Energetic, loving and rewarding

What one piece of advice would you give to mums and dads out there?

Don’t play the comparison game. Your baby will always be different, your mumstyle will be unique and everyone does the same things but in their own ways differently. Trust your instincts and do things your own way.

What is the funniest thing that has happened to you since having your baby/being pregnant?

During my first pregnancy the hormones really did get the better of me and I cried over the silliest and smallest things. I cried when my husband threw my dinner in the bin (after I had left it on the side in the kitchen for hours!) and even cried watching the Olympics on the telly! Hormones do crazy things!

What do you like to do when you have some “me-time”?

Other than writing my blog which I love to do, just taking half an hour to have a shower, blow dry and straighten my hair and watch some catch up TV. I love the television programmes that take you behind the scenes of real life; 24 hours in A&E or Inside Heathrow.

Are there any blogs or websites that you read regularly?

There are loads. I love to discover new blogs and have only recently discovered Louise Pentland who I have been able to relate too quite a bit as she’s just had her second child with quite an age gap and she’s in her thirties!
